“It’s one of those things where it feels like you’re in the middle of the universe,” James Marsdelen told MTV News of the writers room for the upcoming sequel to The Birds of Preys.
“We’re all in this little bubble of a world where the rules of the game are completely different from what we know.”
“I know you have to look at the characters, and you have this sense of, ‘This is how they’re going to act, and this is how I’m going to react to it,'” he added.
“But there’s so much going on and so many characters that I’m not really sure where the line is, and I don’t know if that’s healthy for the story.”
“We’re not saying we’re going back and forth, but it feels different than where we started,” Marsdelan added.
“The first Birds of Light, it was a big thing, and it was so much fun,” co-writer/director John Ridley told MTV.
“I think that we’ve really done the Birds of War thing justice.”
“‘Birds’ is not a big movie, and we know that we’re in this world where we’re all part of the same universe,” Ridley said.
“So it’s not a bad thing to be able to play that world in different ways.
And so we can’t really have it both ways.” “
It feels like we’ve been through a lot of things, but in some ways it’s like a very big movie.
And so we can’t really have it both ways.”
“[James] Marsden is going to be in it, and John Ridley is going, ‘I’m not going to talk about that because it’s such a big deal,’ but I can tell you that we are going to see him.
And I think we’ve got a really, really good writer’s room.
We’re excited to get into it.”
The Birds of Birds of Purity (2018) is currently scheduled to hit theaters in 2019.
