President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that the GOP has made “a total victory” in the midterm elections, the party’s last major legislative push before the next midterm elections.
Trump’s statement came at a news conference with House Speaker Paul Ryan in which the two men discussed the 2018 midterms and how they will push forward.
He said Republicans will not stop working until “everybody knows we’re all in this together.”
The Republican majority in the House and Senate will remain intact through 2018, which Trump has repeatedly vowed to be “unwavering” in fighting for his agenda.
Trump has been widely criticized for his slow and patchy legislative agenda and has not yet released a full budget for his first year in office.
