Tampa Bay, Fla.
— Tampa Bay is reportedly willing to send Jaromii Jagr to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for Tampa’s 2017 first-round pick, the Tampa Bay Times reported Friday.
Jagr, who is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, will join the Sabres on the opening day of free agency.
The Times reported that the Lightning are interested in Jagr, but are not expecting a deal to be finalized until next month.
The Sabres have three picks in the first- and second-round, but the Lightning hold the right to select one of their three selections at No. 7, according to the Times.
The Lightning would like to move up and get one of the top-two picks in order to select a player.
Jaguars forward Justin Upton is expected to return to the Los Angeles Rams after serving a two-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.
